Taraba State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the North East geopolitical zone. The state capital is Jalingo, which is the administrative, commercial and political centre of the state. Taraba covers a total land area of 54,473 km². The state has an estimated population of 3,400,000 people. The population density is approximately 62 persons per km².
