Ondo State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the South West geopolitical zone. The state capital is Akure, which is the administrative, commercial and political centre of the state. Ondo covers a total land area of 15,500 km². The state has an estimated population of 4,800,000 people. The population density is approximately 310 persons per km².
