Ekiti State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the South West geopolitical zone. The state capital is Ado-Ekiti, which is the administrative, commercial and political centre of the state. Ekiti covers a total land area of 6,353 km². The state has an estimated population of 3,500,000 people. The population density is approximately 551 persons per km².
