Gombe State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the North East geopolitical zone. The state capital is Gombe, which is the administrative, commercial and political centre of the state. Gombe covers a total land area of 18,768 km². The state has an estimated population of 3,500,000 people. The population density is approximately 186 persons per km².
