Ogun State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the South West geopolitical zone. The state capital is Abeokuta, which is the administrative, commercial and political centre of the state. Ogun covers a total land area of 16,762 km². The state has an estimated population of 5,500,000 people. The population density is approximately 328 persons per km².
