Heritage Polytechnic is a privately owned NBTE-accredited polytechnic located in Ikot Udota, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The institution was founded by Dr Emmanuel J. Ekott, a Chemical Engineer, who started it in 1996 as the Christian Continuing Education Centre. By 1999, it had evolved into the Christian Institute of Continuing Education, and subsequently rebranded to Heritage Polytechnic. Situated in Eket, one of the oil-producing heartlands of Akwa Ibom State and home to major oil companies including ExxonMobil's Nigerian operations, Heritage Polytechnic serves the significant population of students in the Eket, Esit Eket, Ibeno and Eastern Obolo LGA axis. The polytechnic operates four faculties: Engineering, Science and Technology, Environmental Science, and Management Sciences.
