👤 About Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke
Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke was born on 13 May 1960 and is from the Adeleke family of Ede, Osun State. He attended Jacksonville State University and Atlanta Metropolitan State College in the United States.
He served as Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District from 2017 to 2019, succeeding his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke. He first contested the Osun governorship in the disputed 2018 election rerun, losing narrowly to Gboyega Oyetola of the APC. He returned to contest again in 2022 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), this time defeating incumbent Governor Oyetola and taking office on 27 November 2022.
In December 2025, amid a leadership crisis within the national PDP, Adeleke resigned his membership and joined the Accord Party, explaining that he needed a stable platform to pursue re-election. He was unanimously confirmed as Accord's candidate for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election, scheduled for mid-August 2026, and campaigned on a five-point agenda covering welfare, infrastructure, agro-industrial expansion, health and education innovation, and job creation. He is the uncle of Afrobeats musician Davido.
