Mojisola Lasbat Meranda was born on 16 August 1980. She has represented Apapa Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly since June 2015.
She served as Deputy Speaker of the assembly from June 2023 until January 2025, when Speaker Mudashiru Obasa was impeached over allegations of misconduct. The House elected Meranda as Speaker on 13 January 2025, making her the first woman to hold the position in Lagos State's history.
Barely six weeks into her tenure, Meranda resigned as Speaker on 3 March 2025, citing the need to resolve the ongoing leadership crisis within the House. Obasa was reinstated as Speaker the same day, and Meranda returned to the role of Deputy Speaker.
