ℹ️ Airtel New Codes — What Changed & Why
Why did Airtel codes change? The NCC directed all four networks — MTN, Glo, Airtel and 9mobile — to adopt a single unified set of USSD codes. The goal: one set of codes works on any Nigerian network. Airtel adopted these codes in 2023–2024. Airtel-specific codes like *432# (Me2U) and *412# (night plan) remain active.

❓ FAQs — Airtel USSD Codes
Following the NCC harmonisation, the current Airtel USSD codes are: Recharge *311*PIN#, Airtime balance *310#, Buy data *312#, Data balance *323#, Borrow airtime *303#, Me2U airtime transfer *432#, Night browsing *412#, Check number *121*3*4#, Link NIN *996#, Customer care 111. Old codes like *124# (balance) and *141# (data) have been retired.
Dial *310# to check your Airtel airtime balance. Your balance will appear on screen and be sent via SMS. This is the NCC-unified code that replaced the old *123# and *124# codes. It works on all phones with no internet needed.
Dial *323# to check your Airtel data balance. You will receive an SMS showing your remaining MB/GB and the expiry date of your active plan. The Airtel Thanks app also shows your data balance on the home screen.
The new Airtel recharge code is *311*VoucherPIN#. Replace VoucherPIN with the 16-digit PIN on your scratch card. Example: *311*1234567890123456#. The old code *123*PIN# has been retired and will no longer work.
Dial *121*3*4# to display your Airtel number directly on screen. Alternatively, dial *121# and navigate to My Account → My Number. You can also call any other phone and check the caller ID display.
The Airtel Me2U airtime transfer code is *432#. Dial *432# and follow prompts to transfer airtime to another Airtel subscriber. You can also transfer directly via *432*RecipientNumber*Amount*PIN#. The default PIN is 1234.
The Airtel night plan code is *412#. Dial *412# to see current night browsing plans and subscribe. Night plans are valid between 12AM and 5AM (midnight to 5 in the morning). Plans and prices vary — check via *412# for current offers.
Dial *312# to buy any Airtel data plan. A menu appears with daily, weekly and monthly plans. Select your preferred plan and confirm. You can also use the Airtel Thanks app, or text the bundle code to 141.
Dial *303# to borrow airtime on Airtel. Choose the amount from the menu. The borrowed credit plus a service fee is deducted automatically from your next recharge. You must be an eligible Airtel subscriber with a clean borrowing history.
Dial *996# to link your NIN to your Airtel SIM. Follow the on-screen prompts and enter your 11-digit NIN when asked. You can also dial *1211# which is Airtel's dedicated NIN retrieval code. NIN-SIM linkage is mandatory for all Nigerian lines.
