Peter Obi of the Labour Party won 12 states plus the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja in the 2023 presidential election. He won all 5 South East states (Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo), 3 South South states (Cross River, Delta, Edo), and 3 North Central states (FCT, Nasarawa, Plateau), plus Lagos — famously upsetting Tinubu in his own home state with 43.61% vs 42.87%.
