👤 About Dr. Olukayode Abraham "Kayode" Ajulo, SAN, OON
Olukayode Abraham "Kayode" Ajulo was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, with family roots in Ifira-Akoko, Ondo State. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Jos in 1999, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 after completing the Nigerian Law School, and obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Jos in 2006.
A lawyer, arbitrator, lecturer and civil rights activist, Ajulo began his legal career as a Federal Attorney/State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation before founding his own firm, Kayode Ajulo & Co, Castle of Law. He was conferred the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and was honoured with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa appointed him Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State. When Aiyedatiwa dissolved his cabinet on 15 January 2025 ahead of his re-election swearing-in, Ajulo was one of only two commissioners exempted from the dissolution, and he was formally reappointed when the governor was sworn in for his full term on 24 February 2025. In office he has pursued reforms including an Anti-Land Grabbing Law and a state Criminal Records Database.
